Lehman Auctions Off $852 Million of Loans

Lehman Brothers is offering to sell $852 million of high-yield, high-risk loans, after filing for bankruptcy.
New York-based Lehman, which failed to find a buyer as its share price tumbled, has $7.1 billion of high-yield loans and bonds on its books, the bank said on Sept. 10.

Peru Auction Oil Contracts

State energy company Perupetro auctioned off 17 new oil contracts Wednesday that the government expects will bring US$850 million in new investments for oil and gas exploration.
Perupetro general manager Ronald Egusquiza said the government projects about US$13.3 billion will be invested in oil and gas exploration and extraction in Peru between 2006 and 2015.
