Oi Wins Auction for 2G Licenses

Brazilian mobile operator Oi picked up two 2G spectrum licenses for localities in São Paulo state on Thursday in the repeat of an auction originally held in September, telecoms regulator Anatel said.

Brazil’s National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) announced on Thursday that the auctions for 3G wireless telephone licenses have generated a total of 5.3 billion reais (2.9 billion U.S. dollars).

RBI auctioned 364-day T-bills yesterday (Dec. 19), for which the notified amount was Rs 10 billion. The multiple price-based auctions for the bills remained oversubscribed.
