Panama’s public services regulator, Asep, has postponed to Dec. 21 the deadline for investors to submit prequalification applications for the auction of two mobile telephony licenses.
In a press release posted on its Web site Monday, Asep said it moved the deadline from Friday at the request of three interested parties.

Asep plans to open bids and announce the auction winners in May 2008.
Panama’s wireless industry is dominated by incumbent operators Cable & Wireless Panama and the local unit of Spain’s Telefonica SA (TEF).
