Google wireless spectrum auction

Published November 27th, 2007

In filings with the FCC posted late last week, Google seeks assurances that if it reveals a winning auction bid in financial statements with the Securities and Exchange Commission, it won’t be violating auction rules. In addition, the company asks for clarification that companies winning a chunk of spectrum won’t be prevented from providing different types of wireless service.
Google said it’s seeking responses from the FCC before the commission’s Monday deadline for bidders in the January auction to officially submit their applications.
